Salome Dematei Cara (working as Salo Dematei Cara) is an artist, illustrator, and textile designer based in Mercedes, Buenos Aires, Argentina. She studied for several years at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes in Buenos Aires, complementing her formal education with courses and self-directed practice. She worked two years at Pehuen, a textile studio, collaborating with national and international brands, before moving into a freelance role at a print studio. Alongside this she develops her own project of hand-painted and digitally produced tapestries on gabardine.

Defined by a combination of technique, texture, and colour in pursuit of visual harmony. Her practice moves fluidly between painterly hand-worked surfaces and digital illustration. Nature and everyday life are primary sources of inspiration.
